About Us

High-Speed Ferry Service to the Islands: In December 1995, Hy-Line Cruises started the first high-speed catamaran service to Nantucket. Its original vessel (Grey Lady) was shortly replaced by a larger one in 1997 (Grey Lady II). In 2003, they welcomed their third-generation high-speed catamaran (Grey Lady) which solidified Hy-Line’s position as one of the most successful passenger ferry services in the country. In 2005, Hy-Line also introduced high-speed ferry service to Martha’s Vineyard and reacquired their 1997-built Grey Lady II and renaming her Lady Martha. In 2015, Hy-Line acquired an additional high-speed catamaran from New York, naming her Vineyard Lady, to transition to all high-speed ferry service to Martha’s Vineyard. In 2016, Grey Lady IV was built and delivered. The newest and largest high-speed ferry of the fleet was the last piece in order for the company to change their business model to all high-speed ferry service to the islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. Hy-Line operates year-round to Nantucket and seasonally to Martha’s Vineyard.
