Cape Cod Healthcare Earns Re-Accreditation by the Commission on Cancer for Excellence in Oncology Care
(Hyannis, MA – July 16, 2025) Cape Cod Healthcare has been awarded a 3-year re-accreditation by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) for the system’s integrated network cancer program, an achievement which reflects the organizations’ ongoing dedication to providing high-quality cancer care.
Established by the American College of Surgeons in 1922, the CoC is a multidisciplinary consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients through standards-setting, cancer prevention, research, education and the monitoring of comprehensive quality care.
Having met rigorous standards and review, including performance measurements that represent meaningful outcomes, Cape Cod Healthcare’s cancer program has been officially recognized by the CoC for its high level of quality cancer care. Standards evaluated during a site visit with a CoC surveyor included institutional administrative commitment, cancer program scope and governance, facilities and equipment resources, personnel and service resources, patient care expectations and protocols, data surveillance and systems, quality improvement, professional and community outreach and research.
“This recognition confirms what we already know – that we deliver high-quality cancer care through incredible teamwork across every role and department here at Cape Cod Healthcare,” said Francesca Noll, clinical quality manager for cancer services. “The way everyone came together to complete the accreditation process so smoothly and quickly is just another example of that collaboration in action. It’s a proud moment, but we’re not slowing down. We’re already deep into the first year of our next accreditation cycle and committed to pushing out even further for our patients.”
“Cape Cod Healthcare is committed to providing exceptional care for our cancer patients on Cape Cod. This national distinction is a testament to our team’s ongoing dedication to providing comprehensive, top-tier and multidisciplinary patient-centered care and to excellence in serving our community,” said Cape Cod Healthcare President and CEO Michael K. Lauf.
